Removing ‘LOG OUT’ link in Oracle BI

Often in integrated applications where Siebel Application is integrated with Siebel Analytics/OBIEE and Single Sign On functionality is implemented, sometimes it is necessary to remove the ‘Log Out’ link from the Siebel Analytics/OBIEE web interface.


Here is how this can be done;

1. The first step is to copy the commonuitemplates.xml file from …/OracleBI/web/msgdb/messages to …/OracleBIData/web/msgdb/customMessages (if you do not have this folder, create one).

2. Open this copied file in a text editor and search for the kuiMainBarActionsMenus web message.

3. In this web message, you would find an XML like the one below

This is the XML that makes the ‘Log Out’ URL to be visible from the dashboard. Just remove the above XML from the actual message and save the file.

4. Restart Presentation Services. Now you would notice that the ‘Log Out’ link is not visible.

Similarly you can also remove other links such as Marketing, Disconnected Analytics, Delivers etc depending on your requirement.
